Our Story: From Family Life to Groombox Conversions

Groombox Conversions isn’t just a business, it’s a true family venture, built on a love for dogs, problem-solving, and supporting fellow professionals in the pet care industry.

We’re Pat and Nat, a husband-and-wife team, and proud parents to two young daughters. Our journey into the dog care world has been shaped by our backgrounds, passions, and a shared drive to create something meaningful for the community of groomers and dog lovers across the UK.

Nat’s Journey

For years, Nat worked as a primary school teacher, but as our family and businesses grew, she decided to step away from the classroom to dedicate her time and energy to building something together. That step has led to the launch of Groombox Conversions, a project that brings together all of our skills and experiences.

Pat’s Journey

Pat has worked with dogs for as long as he can remember. He started dog training and dog walking as a teenager, and today he runs two successful dog walking companies in Corby and Essex, alongside his work as a dog behaviourist, helping families with even the trickiest of canine challenges.

Alongside his dog work, Pat has always made use of shipping containers and portable cabins for his own businesses. Over the years, he saw just how versatile and practical these spaces could be. When talking with other professionals in the dog care industry, it became clear that rising living and business costs were putting pressure on groomers. That’s when the idea for Groombox Conversions began to take shape.

The Birth of Groombox

Pat realised he could combine his love of building, problem-solving, and creativity with his passion for supporting others in the dog care world. By converting portable cabins into safe, secure, and fully functional grooming pods, he could provide groomers with a competitively priced alternative to expensive high-street salons or unreliable setups.

Every Groombox unit is totally bespoke, designed around the groomer’s needs. Whether it’s maximising space, adding storage, or creating a welcoming salon atmosphere, each pod reflects the unique way a groomer works.

Why We Do It

At its heart, Groombox is about people. We’ve met so many inspiring groomers, walkers, and trainers who put their all into caring for dogs, and we know how tough it can be to balance passion with the costs of running a business. Groombox offers a way to give groomers freedom, flexibility, and a professional workspace that truly works for them.

We also take great pride in the integrity and honesty we bring to every project. For us, it’s not about simply selling a pod, it’s about listening, understanding, and working alongside each client to create something that genuinely fits their vision. Our clients trust us because we care about their success as much as our own.
